Prolific has an ever growing client base, boosted in part by joint ventures and business introduction arrangements with some of the most respected accountancy and legal firms in the North West.

Our Story...

Simon and I both hail from National IFA backgrounds where 20 years ago, commission based “sales” targets were the driving factor.

Although we always relished a challenge, trying to deliver a client focused financial advice service in a commission based environment felt like banging our heads against a brick wall.

Delivering the well-rounded service which our existing clients deserved became increasingly difficult due to the consistent drive for new clients.

Simon and I were both committed to over-delivering to our valued clients, but circumstances made this difficult. We found ourselves talking about these frustrations and with almost perfect synchronicity we came to the same conclusion.

We wanted and indeed needed to establish an advisory business which would truly put our Clients’needs at the centre of everything we did.

Our company would be staffed by a highly qualified team, people who shared our values.

A team who would embrace the latest technology, which would keep our costs low, whilst at the same time provide our clients with an outstanding service at a competitive price.

Thus, achieving our aim of providing a first class fee-based service, designed to build long-term relationships with each of our clients.

Without exception, we can give the best advice and fulfil our commitment of over-delivering every time.

At that time we both had young families, so giving up safe employment was a daunting step, but we truly believed in our ideas and Prolific was launched in 2001.

That was 17 years ago, and looking back it is evident that our aims and objectives have been achieved and this success is reflected in our valued client base.

In 2006 our success was recognised and we were seconded onto the IFA development panel for Standard Life’s WRAP service. We were incredibly proud to be the first in the UK to go live, thereby offering our clients a platform-based service before many had even heard of it.

We continually strive to be ahead of our competitors with new technology to improve our clients’ experience.

Embracing the qualification culture which we have adopted, the Prolific team are now all Chartered Insurance Institute (CII) registered with a wide range of qualifications to their names. In 2009 Prolific became one of the first in the North West to be granted the highly regarded Chartered Financial Planner Status.

Always at the forefront of giving best client service, more than ten years after Prolific was launched, the Retail Distribution Review finally came into force on 31st December 2012.

No more commission based culture, exactly as we had decided was the way forward for our clients, all those years ago!

Prolific now has an ever growing client base, boosted in part by joint ventures and business introduction arrangements with some of the most respected Accountancy and Legal firms in the North West.

To date, we are justifiably proud that we still have a 99.9 % client retention rate and are still over-delivering every time.

We look forward to welcoming you into the Prolific family.
